Lodge 2163 Application for Dispensation was approved and granted by William S. Hawkins Grand Exalted Ruler of the Grand Lodge Of the Benevolent And Protective Order Of Elks on February 29 1960 , to John Renda, Carl P. Sawyer, Andrew Champagne All Of New London , Connecticut , Lodge No.360 And 185 Others on February , 29, 1960. granted a dispensation for a lodge to be know as Groton Connecticut Lodge # 2163 and to hold its sessions in Groton Connecticut . The first formation meetings were held at school street off Thames st. in Groton, . Meetings were later moved to our new lodge in Groton on 700 Shennecossett road.
